Peter King Must Be Stopped

Seriously. Read this if you can suffer through it.

He is completely in love with Reggie Bush. I don't mean man-crush, I mean full fledged sweaty backseat after getting a cup of coffee around the corner after work L-O-V-E.

I'm not even going to get into the circular logic of his argument against Colston and for Bush (which is even more fun to pick apart when you factor in Colston was a 7th round pick and Bush was taken #2 overall), but how about where he (like other writers) credits Bush for winning the game on Sunday with a punt return for his first, first touchdown of the season.

The final score was 24-21 Saints. If it was 7-6 I could see crediting Bush with the win, but last time I checked those first 17 points come into play don't they? Shouldn't John Carney get credit for kicking the FG that actually seperated the teams TD totals? No love for McAllister who scored the first TD of the game for the Saints, and pounded out 123 yards rushing? Isn't football about controlling the clock and running the ball? Apparently not.

Once again let me thank you on behalf of all of us who missed it the first 40 times you mentioned it, you work for NBC. WE GET IT. A network that carries one Division 1 CFB game a week, and up until 5 weeks ago didn't have Pro Football on its airwaves for 6 years. Hell, NBC had to sign Collinsworth who wasn't good enough to be in the FOX booth anymore with Buck and Aikman, pull Bob Costas away from the Olympics and having parts in movies such as Pootie Tang, dust off Sterling Sharpe who was replaced at ESPN by the fountain of knowledge Mike Ditka (if you care what happened in 1958...did they even have the forward pass then coach?), and trade the rights to a cartoon to get a broadcast crew.

The best part in all of this of course is that for years King would finish his MMQB column with the topic header "Who I like tonight, and I don't mean Al Michaels". Don't you guys both work for the peacock now? That'll be fun at the company Xmas party.
