If The Yankees Fire Joe Torre

If they do, then I'm done being a Yankees fan until Steinbrenner is cold and in the ground. It's that simple. I mean it. I won't cheer for the Mets, but I'll pay more attention to preseason football in July and play a hell of a lot more golf with my friends that are so deep in the closet they are finding sweaters than worry about the trading deadline and if Peter Gammons's cell phone is going to ring.

Somehow all is forgotten that they won the AL East for what, the 9th straight year? (and in 96' when they didn't win the division they were the first team to win the World Series via the wildcard)

Kenny Rogers throws the game of his LIFE and somehow Torre is to blame? No, really. The Gambler's career post-season ERA was 8.85 going into the 2006 ALDS.

The Yanks lose their corner outfielders for most of the season, pay Pavano 8 million to strain his buttocks, lie about breaking his ribs, and not pitch an a SINGLE INNING in the majors this season, and somehow you want to blame #6?

How about blaming #'s 41, 45 and 34?

Throw in 11 and 13 while you are at it.

Who traded for these guys again? Was it Joe, or was it Curious George and Cashman?

Gary instead of Vlad, great move. Passing up on Beltran, even better. Signing Johnny Damon, doesn't Jim Abbott have a better arm than him? If it wasn't for Cano and Melky, the team could get an AARP discount at Travel Lodge.

I hope Torre wins AL manager of the year and Girardi wins NL, that way the lunacy of MLB can be seen in full cracked out like Lindsay Lohan mode when they are both unemployed in the off-season.

Ask fans of any team out there if they'd take 4 WS wins in 10 years, I'm sure they would. The Indians fans I know sure as hell would.

And don't give me that crap about payroll --> World Series or bust.
The Dodgers, Mets, Cubs, Angels and Both Soxen have spent their fair share for the last 6 years, and they've won 3 WS between them in the last 10 years.

I grew up with the Yankees sucking complete you know what. Mike Pagliarulo hit .230-something for 1985, 86 and 87, and he started every damn game at 3rd base! Steve Balboni, enough said. I'll take the guy with 4 rings over the guy with 1 (won in what many still think was a mafia fix of a WS) anyday.
